We're now in the middle of July 2008.  Hope that all of you are enjoying this nice summer weather. 

Not Just Threads at Potter's Paradise has been keeping me busier than ever.  We have added many new products since I published the last newsletter back in January, 2008.  Just to mention a few...we now carry Insul-Brite and Fusible Warm Fleece.  Both are made by The Warm Company and excellent products.  Another exciting new addtion to Not Just Threads at Potter's Paradise is the Machine Embroidery Starter Kit and we now have The Thread Shed Storage case, which fits Admelody Rayon & Polyester 1100 yd. cones perfectly.  The Thread Shed holds 48 cones of Admelody Thread.  Read more about these products in this newsletter.

Not Just Threads at Potter's Paradise is having a contest.
  The contest begins on August 1st 2008.

Oh no!!!...Lucy is lost.  Lucy's Chubby Ragdoll sister have go to be a part of the August DFH Hunt.  When it was time for them to leave I couldn't find Lucy anywhere.   The last time I saw Lucy was at the Not Just Threads at Potter's Paradise web site.  I know she's hiding there because she is shy and doesn't want to be hunt by the DFH hunters.  Lucy is the baby of the family so please be kind to her when you find her.

The first five people to find Lucy will receive Set #1 of the Sunbonnet Boys free.



The contest rules are quite simple to follow.  Once you have found Lucy, you must email Michele with a copy of the machine embroidery design to notjustthreads@gmail.com .  I would also like your name and tell me where you read about the contest.  In turn, I will email you Set #1 of the Sunbonnet Boys.

Many of you who belong to my yahoo group already have Set #2 of the Sunbonnet Boys.  Set #3 and Set #4 are coming soon.  Collect them all?

Fil-Tec's Clear-Glide Pre-wound Bobbins:
 
You have a choice of the Class L or Class 15 size bobbin.  Please make sure you know what size bobbin your machine takes before purchasing.
 
With your Machine Embroidery Starter Kit from Not Just Threads at Potter's Paradise you will receive a tube of black and white bobbins.  More commonly know as the Zebra Pack.  The Class L Bobbins come in tubes of 10 and the Class 15 bobbins come in tubes of 8.  You are getting the same amount of total yardage, but the Class 15 Bobbin is a much larger bobbins and holds more thread than the Class L.

Clear-Glide is a high-tenacity polyester filament bobbin wound on a plastic flange spool. Designed for today’s home sewing (drop-in) bobbin cases.

 Clear Glide is wound on a plastic sided bobbin shell. Because of this it is not affected by humidity or oils. It is responsive to machine thread sensors so you don't have to worry about your yardage.

Clear-Glide offers more stitches or yards per bobbin than both competitive and machine wound bobbins.

Health Tip:

Are you suffering from tired, sore eyes?...Maybe too much time sitting in front of your computer.  Well I spend at least 14 hours a day sitting in frony of the screen.  My eyes were so red that my doctor was quite concerned and sent me to an eye specialist. 

All is well...just a little too much computer strain that can't be avoided.  To my surprise this doctor gave me some great advice on how to take care of my eyes the natural way. 

Too many hours glaring at a monitor will naturally dry or eyes out and cause them to be very irritated.  His advice was first of all to stop using those make-up removers bought in the beauty supply (way too hard on the eyes).  Instead he advised me to purchase a bottle of No More Tears Shampoo and put some of that on a damp cotton pad to remove my make up every night.  The doctor proceeded to tell me to sit with a warm compress on my eyes for only 15 minutes a day.  More if you can.  By lying a warm, wet cloth over your eyes for just 15 minutes a day, you are naturally putting the fluids back into your eyes, which will take away those blood shot eyes.
 This really does work, but the secret here is consistency.  Much nicer and far less expensive than medicated eye drops.

COMING SOON...Paradise Embroidery Designs

As many of you know I have been involved with the Design Fest Hunt since February.  This has been a wonderful experience for me as well as finally giving me the confidence to go public with my machine embroidery designs.  I've actually been digitizing for a couple of years now, but never felt that I was experienced enough to sell my designs.

My machine embroidery designs will soon be available for sale on a new web site "Paradise Embroidery Designs".  I did try to incorporate a category for Paradise Embroidery Designs on Not Just Threads at Potter's Paradise, but the shopping cart was not behaving friendly.  It kept trying to charge shipping and taxes on my designs, which I will not be doing.  The decision was made that a sister site would be needed and is in the makings now.
  All designs will be available at a pleasant price and when purchase they will be "instant downloadable products".   No having to wait for an email.  As soon as confirmation of payment is made your design will be available to you.

This is a huge and exciting step for me!  All of the designs from Paradise Embroidery Designs are digitized with the Generations Software.  Designs are all done with manual punch...no auto digitizing here.  I will be using purchased clipart as well as my own hand and mouse drawn clipart. 

In the beginning Paradise Embroidery Designs certainly will not have the volume of designs available like on other web sites.  New Releases will not come as often as I would like because I basically digitize in my spare time.  Some days there simply is not a lot of spare time available.  It will grow in time...we all have to start somewhere.

As soon as Paradise Embroidery Designs www.paradiseembroiderydesigns.com is up and running I will be letting you know!
