             Before I begin to tell all of you what is New News at Not Just Threads at Potter’s Paradise I would like to take a minute to thank everybody who was directly and indirectly involved in creating my new web site.

             Diane Harman-Hoog from Quitler’s Threads http://www.quiltersthreads.com generously spent weeks and long hours helping to set up this new web site.  Without her help I would never have succeeded...thank you so  much Diane!

             This became quite a family affair.  Diane’s son Terry Harman from Sole Designs Inc.

 pitched in to help put the graphics together.  Bruce Wiley, Diane’s brother made sure that my shopping cart was up and running smoothly.

             Barb  from Embell-Scrapbooking http://embellish-online.com  came to my rescue several times to help get the web site and shopping cart up and running.

             My graphics were created by Trina Clark  http://www.trinaclarkdesigns.com/ and I can’t forget to thank the Brain Eaters Font Co. for allowing me to use their very artsy font for “Not Just Threads at Potter’s Paradise”

 also gave advice and terrific technical support while we were getting this all put together.

Admelody Machine Embroidery Rayon & Polyester Threads are making news!  This little clip from the EasyThreads Newsletter speaks for itself…

 

easythreads™ is a windows-based program that keeps track of your threads and converts them from one brand to another. It lets you enter the threads for a project into a listing, and then allows you to convert to other brands of threads. In a matter of seconds, you can convert all of the colors in your project or design to just a specific brand of thread, or to the threads you have already bought. Or you can pick each thread match yourself, with a list of all the threads that match. It shows each color as a swatch, so you can really compare the threads easily. And if you want a closer view, you can enlarge the color swatch and compare it side-by-side to it’s match.
The way easythreads™ compares the threads is by the Red, Green and Blue (RGB) values, so you can be sure that the match is exact! easythreads™ is a very easy program to learn and use. And it turns the long hours of matching your threads by eye or by all of those conversion charts into just a matter of a few minutes!

More good news for Admelody Threads.  I recently found out that Admelody will be producing polyester pre-wound bobbins in the Class L size.  These bobbins will be cardboard sided and available in boxes of 144 bobbins.  I plan on re-packaging the boxes into smaller quantities for the convenience of my customers.  I have also requested that Admelody produce the bobbins in the Class 15 size and hoping that comes in the near future as well.

COMING SOON to Not Just Threads at Potter’s Paradise….

 

SewIconz is software for viewing the contents of embroidery files and certain image files (jpeg,

gif, bmp) as icons from within Window Explorer.

 

With SewIconz, the stitch pattern contained in your embroidery files appear as icons as you scroll through your Windows folders.  Information about the number of stitches, colours and patter size (in either mm. or in.) will appear as your cursor moves over the icons.  The figure below shows the Windows Explorer “Tile” view of the Dinosaur” directory.

 

SewIconz is a stand alone application.  It is not a plug-in and therefore does not require the installation of any other products to run on your Windows © System.

TIP OF THE MONTH

This “TIP OF THE MONTH” was submitted by one of our Group Members, Gillian Goddard from Simcoe, Ontario.  What a simple, practical and economical idea.

             Gillian’s husband, Len, made wooden slats (approx. the same height as a spool of Admelody Thread).  These are free floating dividers that have been placed into a narrow drawer of a storage caddy on wheels.  The wooden slats stay in place and stop Gillian’s thread from falling all over the place.  Looks to me like this drawer will hold roughly 77 spools of thread...not bad.  Very handy...roll it out when you need it and roll it back in out of the way, when you don’t.  Smart Cookie!
